Travel to New Orleans for jazz and savory jambalaya. Improvised and
spontaneous, "jazz" has been called "America's Classical Music." Join us
for a demonstration of traditional and mainstream jazz, and enjoy a
lunch of New Orleans jambalaya with all the trimmings.

Percussion and Pasta

award-winning Scott Prescott, a
professional percussionist,
parent of two boys, and middle school teacher gave a presentation
geared especially to children but
appealling to all ages. We experienced
the many unique sounds created by instruments that are part
of the ancient family known as percussion.

Gabriel Faure’s Requiem

St. John’s Oratorio Chorus, soloists and chamber orchestra.
Of the many Requiem masses, Faure’s is one of the most widely
known and loved. The tender “Pie Jesu” for solo soprano is its
centerpiece. This work was the featured work in the first spring
concert for this chorus in 2000.
Tacos and Trumpets

Ron Hasselmann presented an engaging program for children
of all ages featuring the trumpet, from its beginnings as an
animal’s horn, to today’s brilliant instrument, using nine
different trumpets.
