Sally Messner, Soloist

Sally Messner has sung with the Oregon Bach Festival chorus and the Festival Ensemble Stuttgart under Helmuth Rilling; VocalEssence under Philip Brunelle; and the Minnesota Chorale and Orchestra. She has appeared as a soloist with the Minnesota Chorale and Orchestra, the Bach Society of Minnesota, St. John’s Oratorio Chorus, and St. Mark’s Cathedral Choral Society. In 2009, she began singing with the Elm quintet, an ensemble specializing in music from the Reformation era.

Sally earned a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from Valparaiso University, Indiana, and has participated in master classes with Ellen Hargis and Robert Harrison. She has studied with Carrie Henneman Shaw, Emma Small, Susan Druck, Harriet McCleary, and Christopher Cock, and currently studies with Barbara Kierig. Sally earned a Master of Sacred Music in choral conducting from Luther Seminary, Saint Paul, and has worked with adult and children’s choirs in Twin Cities’ churches since 2002.
