Welcome to St. John's Music Series

Our mission is to present great works of music to the neighborhood and community, performed well and at no cost.

Thank you for attending our 22nd annual performance of Handel’s Messiah.

We invite you to join us during Holy Week worship services.
We celebrate with special music including several movements from  J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion: “Mein teurer Heiland,” “Ruht wohl” and the final chorale.

Maundy Thursday, April 5,     7:00 PM
Good Friday, April 6,     7:00 PM
Easter Sunday, April 8,     10:00 AM

It all began in 1990 when a community chorus was organized to perform Handel’s Messiah in concert form, with professional soloists and orchestra. The annual performance of Messiah has now become a community tradition for which a loyal audience returns year after year.

St. John’s Music over the years has grown to include additional concerts, charity benefits and children’s musical education events.

Our concerts are funded entirely by the donations of individuals and organizations.
If you are unable to attend, you may still show your support by sending a check to St. John's Lutheran Church, 4842 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55419.  Please write “Music Series” in the memo line.  You may print out a donation form or donate using Paypal by clicking on the "Donate" link in the panel to the left.  All donations are tax deductible and will be acknowledged in concert programs.
